Excellent, clean-tasting, golden brown session bitter, full-bodied for its strength. A strong hoppiness, with pleasant citrus balance. Delicious hoppy aroma and a long hoppy, bitter finish.

Opened in 1997 with a five-barrel plant, Triple fff is now in the sole ownership of Graham Trott. There has been a steady expansion of output, which is now produced on a 18-barrel plant. French Horn is one of 200 outlets supplied direct.

Butcombe Bitter (OG 1047, ABV 4.7%)
Amber coloured, malty and notably bitter beer, with subtle citrus fruit qualities. Hoppy, malty, citrus and a very slightly sulphur aroma, and a long, dry, bitter finish with light fruit notes. Consistent and refreshing.
Three times a finalist at The Great British Beer Festival.

One of the most successful of the newer breweries, set up in 1978 by a former Courage Western director, Simon Whitmore, this West Country independent based in Somerset's Mendip hills has gained a considerable reputation with its quality beers and friendly service. Butcombe's beers contain no added sugars, colourings or preservatives.

As announced on 23rd May 2006 London brewer Young's has combined its brewing operations with Charles Wells of Bedford to create a major new national force in the brewing industry. The new company, Wells & Young's Brewing Company Limited, began operations on October 2nd, brewing all of Young's beers in Bedford alongside the Charles Wells brand portfolio.

Ringwood, which celebrates 30 years of brewing in 2008, was setup in 1978 by legendary micro-brewery builder Peter Austin. The brewery moved in 1986 to attractive 18th-century buildings, formerly part of the old Trunks Brewery. A new brewhouse was commissioned at the end of 1994, and a new fermenting room completed in 1995. Additional fermenters were installed in 2002 along with cask-washing and cask-filling equipment.
